Christmas Day Service – 1oam!
Thanks for taking the time to visit St Peters Anglican Church. We hope this website helps you to know three things about us:
- Who we are
- What we do
- How you can be a part of it……..
Who are we? Good question – thanks for asking it! St Peters at St Peters is a small evangelical Anglican church in the suburb of St Peters – in the Inner West of Sydney – and it’s parish covers the suburbs of St Peters, Sydenham and Tempe.
Being an evangelical Anglican church means we are people who want to know, love and serve God by honouring his Son and our Lord – Jesus.
We believe this is important both as individuals, and as a community.
We believe the Christian life all starts by giving prime place to his Spirit’s word the Bible, in our lives and meetings.
We want to love and serve God, his church and the wider community in both word and deed, so that we may see more and more people join with us and enjoy the same privilege of calling God ‘Our Father’ because of Jesus our Saviour.
- We love our historic setting – Our building is early gothic revival in style and was built in 1838. It gives us a great connection with Sydney and Saints past as we meet where they have met for over 175 years.
- We love our historic faith – Around 2000 years ago God did an amazing thing in allowing his Son to die on a cross and then he raised him from the dead three days later. God did this so we could know forgiveness, and so we could have hope to face life, and even death – and this changes everything still today.
And we enjoy expressing these truths as an Anglican Church – with a richness and warmth informed by the history of Anglican practice in a way that is intelligible for today’s world.
- We Love our Living Community – St Peters Anglican Church is a living community of people from all walks of life. As a Church we have been giving far more than just our name to our surrounding community since 1838. From our Sunday meetings to playtime or Bible study groups during the week, we hope we have something that enables everyone to be a part of our living community – a village in the city.
So why not come along a say hello – we’d love to meet you.
